Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Manage product coverage to maximize sales potential of pigtails and connectors
  • Work closely with engineering and sourcing team to increase gross margin within product categories
  • Work with sourcing team to eliminate negative margin SKU’s
  • Set sales & margin goals and objectives of the program
  • Work with Product Managers and team members to complete projects
  • Monitor customer POS to spot trends in the market in a timely manner
  • Maximize product content to insure SMP products are top of mind in assigned categories
  • Work closely with sales team to prepare presentations and collateral material as required
  • Resolve problems and issues quickly
  • Develop and maintain relevant product interchanges for key competitors
  • Work with pricing team to maximize competitive market position
  • Set objectives to maximize ROI
  • Prepare and present progress and budget reports to management
  • Assist team members when needed to accomplish team goals
  • Aggressively support the corporation’s sales and marketing philosophies and strategies in the execution of duties
  • Suggest options and alternative methods and procedures that will offer line growth and increased profitability
  • Cooperate with the other members of the Corporate Sales & Marketing departments in the areas of policy, promotion, sales tools, bulletins, rough copy, instruction sheets, graphics, artwork, packaging, etc. so that new and/or existing product is continually expedited through the system and into the distribution centers
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment in her/his area as well as responsible for the safety of the people in the areas
  • Contribute to improved product performance and quality while reducing costs through innovative design and applications

Job Requirements

Requirements: College degree preferably in Marketing or Mechanical Engineering required.  Minimum of ten (5) years progressively increased position of responsibility in marketing, sales or product engineering position or similar background necessary. Detailed understanding of the replacement automotive parts environment including a working knowledge of the various systems of automobiles and light trucks is mandatory.  Strong analytical skills, excellent math aptitude; ability to successfully negotiate; positive leadership qualities; highly effective analytical and communication skills; close attention to detail and expeditious follow-up; ability to effectively prioritize numerous tasks and projects and address multiple priorities simultaneously and have strengths in decision-making are all key attributes and  inherent  pre-requisites skills for this position.
