Job Description

We are currently seeking a QA Sample Coordinator at Standard Motor Products, Inc. Engine Management’s Distribution Center. 

Requirements (include but not limited to):

Check automotive samples for proper appearance.  Must be able to understand and use calipers and tape measure. Must have good manual dexterity.  Good mathematical skills are necessary along with good computer, written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

    • Communicate completed operations to appropriate co-workers.
    • Complete paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Catalog the receiving of samples including NPI, Extra Bulk and Engineering.
    • Read and interpret information quality inspection procedures to develop clear, complete and precise records.
    • Record pertinent data in various Quality databases.
    • Interface with other individuals from various department on issues related to sample quality.
    • Various tasks and/or assignments given by the Quality Manager at any given time.
  • Required Skills and Knowledge –
    • Ability to successfully complete Quality aptitude tests.
    • Knowledge of automotive parts function.
    • Excellent attention to detail and good documentation practices.
    • Proficient in MS Office; Excel and Access.
    • Proficiency with JDE is preferred.
    • Fluency in the English language and good mathematical skills are required.
    • Must be knowledgeable of ISO9001.
    • Must be a self-starter and require minimal supervision.
    • Effective teamwork, interpersonal skills.
    • Technical aptitude for quality related job requirements.
    • Ability to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet daily and monthly goals.
    • Reach Truck and Cherry Picker experience required.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience: 

  • High School diploma, or equivalent, with a minimum of one year of Quality Assurance or Automotive experience.
  • Knowledge of basic supply chain management systems (APICS) and experience using JDE, WMS (preferred)
