Job Description

Inventory Control Specialist Opportunity

We are looking for an Inventory Control Specialist to be responsible for the initiation and maintenance of inventory controls, policies, standard procedures and systems to achieve accurate financial inventory information.  This is accomplished through a comprehensive analysis of inventory transactions to identify problems, recommend solutions and drive implementation of improved practices, tools, and policies.

Essential Functions

• Conduct month-end transactions & reports and send to Financial Manager
• Create and review ABC stratification schedules
• Conduct Analysis of Work Order material variances
• Generate variance report between JD Edwards and Stock Locator and perform root cause analysis
• Run and analyze inventory exception counts for root cause
• Run Integrity Reports and resolve issues
• Review transactions to determine root cause of variances
• Publish action item list to resolve root causes of variances
• Review action item list with Financial Manager
• Perform adjustments in JD Edwards to correct variances
• Investigate the root cause of cycle count variances
• Manage plant wide Inventory Accuracy projects
• Lead Fixed Asset annual audit
• Administer all asset tags for Capital Projects
• Conduct annual Sarbanes-Oxley and internal/external inventory audits
• Drive inventory accuracy continuous improvement
• Generate Inventory reports for Operations as needed to maintain inventory
• Conduct Training Classes
• Other duties as assigned by the Financial Manager
• To include assistance with the Month End close
 

Ergonomic Focus

• Walking, standing, sitting during an 8 hour shift
• Look up at racks and using ladders to reach height.
• Written and verbal communication in person and via telephone and computer
• Typing on computer keyboard and telephone keypad.
• Lifting up to 30 lbs frequently

 

Job Requirements

 Minimum Requirements

  • 2 year AA/AS in Business or Operations Management or 3 years related work experience
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing data process (BOM & Routing)
  • Knowledge of AS400 systems (JD Edwards preferred)
  • Proficiency in Excel type spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of Database applications
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate solutions and resolve issues in timely manner, problem solve
  • Excellent verbal communication skills including telephone use
  • Excellent written communication skills including email and MS Word
