Job Description


To work with Human Resources data at a detailed level: pulling data together from various sources, creating models, analyzing data, automating data processes, and formatting data for distribution and presentation. This job presents an exciting learning and development opportunity in Human Resources strategy and in the rapidly growing discipline of People Analytics/Metrics.



  • HRIS / Analytics
    • Upon request from Corp & Field HR, Analyst will generate AD Hoc reporting, Corp Monthly Headcount, Metrics, Pay Equity & Comp Benchmarking from ADP Insights, ADPR & EV5 Query
    • Support project requests related to HR data, analysis, and insights by extracting data from HR system into Excel formulating reports, consolidating data, cleaning data, analyzing data, interpreting results, and presenting findings to senior staff.
    • Manage, deliver, and evolve a periodic HR Dashboard by collecting data, automating data and calculations, ensuring accuracy, and interpreting insights
    • Responsible for the data integrity of HRIS system including regular audits and improving ongoing processes
  • Compensation
    • Support Corporate Headquarters & field HR Managers with compensation benchmarking
    • Delivery pay equity reporting and benchmarking to senior management including internal demographics
    • AON Hewitt Comp Benchmarking
  • Retirement Plans
    • Performs internal Retirement audit controls on monthly, quarterly, annual basis
    • Complete quarterly and annual reporting and auditing on SMP’s retirement plans (401k, ESOP, SERP)
    • Support the Corporate Treasurer annually with SERP eligibility, open enrollment & ESOP Diversification
  • Talent Acquisition
    • Assist SMP’s Manager of Talent Acquisition with data management of SMP’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
    • Conduct ongoing EEOC / diversity reporting to capture new hires, transfers, and promotions.
  • Audit
    • Perform HR/Benefit compliance, research, analysis and documentation for internal and external audit partners.
    • Review and report on large transactional datasets by utilizing HRIS system
    • Monitor and recommend improvements to reduce risk and ensure compliance


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a data driven role within a Human Resources department building, configuring, and customizing reports and dashboards
  • The right candidate is a fast learner, a strategic and analytical thinker, has strong attention to detail, and can multi-task effectively to deliver at a high level.
  • Experience with HR data and HRIS systems; ADP EV5.04.07/H&W and Namely (preferred)
  • Advanced and efficient computer skills working with Microsoft Excel w/ advanced functionality; Examples of work product would be complimentary.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with high degree of confidentiality and discretion
  • Strong ability to integrate data from multiple sources and multiple formats to produce meaningful results with precision and efficiency
  • Commitment to ensuring accurate and clean data
  • Experience with Compensation Benchmarking including AON Hewitt and/or ADP Insights



  • Problem solver with the ability to identify discrepancies, root cause, and make recommendations to streamline processes
  • Ability to visually format polished and user-friendly reports in Excel
  • Organization skills, including time management and the ability to balance conflicting priorities in order to ensure timely completion of essential projects and task.
  • Exposure to data visualization and data management tools a plus
  • Experience with creating data models a plus

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficient to advanced computer skills including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
