Accounts Payable Coordinator

Job Description and Responsibilities:


Standard Motor Products has opportunities for an Accounts Payable Coordinator to provide support to the accounting process.  The position will be responsible for processing material and service invoices from domestic and international vendors using Standard Motor Products systems and software.

Hours:  Day business hours.        8:00am – 4:30pm


Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for payment of invoices for purchased goods and services for domestic and international vendors.
  • Verifies invoices, receipts, purchase orders
  • Enters payment order into computer system.
  • Routes invoices to proper files.
  • Answers e-mail and phone inquiries from vendors and SMP Staff in a timely manner.
  • Writes memos as necessary and produces statistical reports. Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years accounts payable experience. Accounting degree a plus. General Ledger experience a plus.
  • Data entry experience
  • Computer experience with excellent knowledge of MS Office and strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent organization and filing skills
  • Excellent Written and Verbal skills including telephone





  • Sit at desk, stand, bend, stoop
  • Use keyboard, telephone, computer, copier
  • File paper and folders in drawers
  • Lift boxes of files up to 30 lbs
