Tool Design Engineer-Job description
As a key member of our Electro Mechanical Engineering Department, you will play a key role in the planning, estimating, designing and building of assembly and testing equipment that is efficient, safe, ergonomic, and cost effective.
Responsibilities include:
- Design machines and tooling for assembly and testing of automotive aftermarket products.
- Responsible for timely completion and performance of all designed equipment in cooperation with manufacturing engineers.
- Manage the quotation, purchasing, fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting of all assigned equipment designs.
- Select tooling materials and specify heat treatment requirements.
- Exhibit an understanding of metal cutting processes and additive manufacturing techniques.
- Work directly with controls engineers on the design and implementation of controls systems when required.
- Provide training on how to safely operate tooling and equipment.
- Required to actively support factory tooling troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Handle other related functions as necessary.
