Project Manufacturing Engineer

 

Job Description:

  • Design, develop and implement manufacturing processes for automotive sensors and actuators
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Establish conceptual process layout with equipment & tooling requirements.
  • Provide manufacturing input to the Design Engineer to reduce tooling, equipment & product cost.
  • Establish and track critical path timing plan from project approval to release to production.
  • Establish tooling and equipment specifications for purpose of quote & manufacture.
  • Support supervisor in developing project plan, budget and schedule.
  • Source and select vendors for tooling & equipment.
  • Debug and complete acceptance runs on equipment prior to pilot production.
  • Supply production department with tooling and equipment to reliably manufacture product to design
  • and cost intent, per established timing plan.
  • Train factory representatives & assemblers in operation of production equipment.
  • Provide production support regarding assembly problems, changes or cost reduction.

Preferred experience / skills:

  • Manufacturing process development, from product design through production.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including:
  • Ultrasonic & heat stake assembly.
  • Resistance welding.
  • Mechanical press and forming.
  • Magnetizing.
  • CNC coil winding
  • Soldering
  • Epoxy dispensing
  • Test systems for measuring electrical parameters, fluid flow & mechanical displacement.
  • Excellent oral/written communication, problem-solving, organizational & PC skills.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D design software.
 

The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000- 120,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and internal equity factors are also considered.
