Standard Motor Products is looking for a People Analytics Analyst to join our new People Analytics team. This role will be critical to success of scaling the People Analytics function in an effort to become more data driven. The analyst will be key to the success in this initiative as they will become the main point of contact (“SME”) for all standard HR reporting and will support ongoing data management processes by validating and auditing HR data.

The analyst will report directly to the People Analytics Associate Manager. However, the role will give the candidate the opportunity to work cross-functionally by engaging directly with senior leaders, at the corporate and plant level. HR Data Management, Governance, and Integrity

  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of data to support and influence decisions across the business with data-driven insights.
  • Partner with other Corporate HR team, as well as key stakeholders within Corporate Finance, Accounting, and Treasury team, to perform regular data audits and reconciliations. (e.g. reconciliation of payments and contributions to FSA, HSA, Transit, 401K contributions).
  • Support the HRIS / People Analytics team with the global implementation of Ceridian Dayforce by collaborating with various stakeholders to improve data accuracy of final data transfer.
  • Responsible for high priority HRIS data entry and mass uploads (e.g. annual merit increases, cleaned data, etc.).

HR Reporting, Analytics, and Strategy

  • Proactively respond to and complete all HR data and reporting requests in a timely manner. Become a Ceridian Dayforce Reporting subject matter expert.
  • Deliver monthly reports and metrics to support other parts of the business with their workflows.
  • Document and improve workflow processes to help the HR team, and business, become more agile by identifying opportunities for improvement in existing processes. Particularly, automating administrative and repetitive responsibilities.
  • Support the HR team, senior leaders, and vendors with HR data reporting requirements for compliance and other strategic initiatives. This involves gathering the required datasets to consolidate, clean, analyze, and format to meet the data requirements and specifications.
  • Some data reporting requirements to expect are compensation benchmarking, pay equity analysis, Aon’s annual salary survey workbooks, employee benefits election schedule, US SEC’s E-0001 - Annual Diversity Report E-001, and other ad-hoc reports related to HR data.

Job Requirements


General Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a data-driven role within a Human Resources department.
  • A general working knowledge of the HR functions including benefits, talent management, payroll, performance management, etc.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Organization skills, including time management and the ability to balance conflicting priorities in order to ensure timely completion of essential projects and task.

Data Analysis Requirements:

  • Commitment to maintaining and presenting accurate and clean data.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced functions in MS Excel. Comfortable merging large data sets from multiple sources and formats using VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • Present data and findings in a visually polished and user-friendly format
  • Examples of work product would be complimentary.

PREFERRED (A plus, not required):

  • Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics.
  • 1-2 years working experience as a PM, Project Coordinator, Analyst, or HR specialist.
  • HRIS: ADP EV5.04.07/H&W/ADP Reporting, Ceridian Dayforce, Namely.
  • HRIS implementation experience.
  • Perform Compensation Benchmarking. Preferably with AON Hewitt and/or ADP Insights.
