Our Engine Management Segment manufactures and distributes a full line of critical components for the ignition, electrical, emissions, fuel and safety-related systems of motor vehicles. Our Temperature Control Segment manufactures and distributes a full line of critical components for the temperature control (air conditioning and heating) systems, engine cooling systems, power window accessories and windshield washer systems of motor vehicles.

We sell our products primarily to automotive aftermarket retailers, program distribution groups, warehouse distributors, original equipment manufacturers and original equipment service part operations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Mexico and other Latin American countries.

We employ approximately 4,300 people in North America, Europe and Asia.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Catalog Content Lead is a leader that will develop and execute strategies to provide the automotive aftermarket with the latest content information to drive growth. This role will be responsible for providing customers with the catalog data, and expertise to best support the Standard Motor Products content. This person must possess a combination of relationship development, digital content, data architecture skills, and strategic thinking to both articulate a vision and drive that vision into an actionable plan.

  • Assist The Catalog Manager with Customer and Image Fulfillment
    • Distribution of product files related to automotive application data files, product specification data files, and product image data files to customers via email, ftp, or other media. 
    • Complete customer’s automotive related assessments of application and product information updates.  Communicate responses to customer assessments and other customer discrepancy reports in a timely and effective manner.
    • Maintain all aspects of the Product Specification database. Must be able to load data Via SQL. Make Changes to current data as PDP requests.
    • Maintain and provide all smart sheet information for customer needs.
    • Create Catalog PDF using InDesign and Easy Catalog.
    • Must be able to make system improvements in Parts Vault (using VBA in house catalog Application)
    • Partnering to build productive relationships with customer content leads to driving continuous improvement in electronic content and continued growth in the ecommerce segment
    • Work collaboratively with internal partners in Marketing, Sales, and Category Management to maintain customer expectations

  • Assist in all areas of the Marketing Data Warehouse Fulfillment (maintenance, enhancement, and usability)

o   Verify accuracy and consistency of vehicle applications (automotive and other -motives) with OE research information and other resources.

o   Verify accuracy and consistency of product information such as attributes, interchange, descriptions, features & benefits, and product relationships

o   Verify accuracy and consistency of product image and other product digital assets.  Some minor image retouching may be required.

o   Monitoring of existing product vehicle coverage reports for accuracy and consistency, and assist product managers with custom coverage reports

o   This person will be a team player and participate in department projects (IE catalog proofing and QA).

o   Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to help the team drive the process

o   Knowledge of automotive aftermarket data standards and technical skills (e.g. ability to query data using MS Access and /or SQL) would be considered a significant asset

o   Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

•       Basic car knowledge and automotive experience is essential. 

•       Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.  If not, 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•       Excellent interpersonal/communications skills.

•       Ability to utilize any of the data analyst tools in MS-Office like Excel, Access is required.  Ability to use Adobe Suite, SQL Server, InDesign,  a general knowledge of Visual Basic for Apps is a plus

•       Ability to understand and apply algebraic theory used in many MS Office products.

•       Good analytical and problem solving skills; good organizational skills.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret situations and adjust effort accordingly.
