Job Description

Summary:

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with product development experience for medium to high volume sensors and actuators (Crank/Cam, Speed and EGR Position Sensors, Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valves, Idle Air Control Actuators, etc) to join our team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Establishing conceptual process layouts with equipment/tooling requirements
  • Working with Design Engineer to reduce tooling, equipment and product costs
  • Establishing critical path timing plans from project approval to release to production
  • Sourcing/selecting vendors for tooling and equipment
  • Debugging equipment prior to pilot production
  • Providing gages, equipment and procedures for inspection/test of components, subassemblies and final assemblies
  • Establishing tooling/equipment specifications
  • Providing factory reps with equipment documentation
  • Training staff in operation of production equipment
  • Resolving assembly problems
  • Providing technical support to internal/external groups
  • Handling other related functions as necessary

Job Requirements

 

Requirements:

  • Must have a BSME, 5+ years’ experience in the development of new production line start-ups, and a background manufacturing electro-mechanical products.
  • Knowledge of manual, semiautomatic and automated production equipment will be expected.
  • Familiarity with specifications, purchasing and startup of new tooling, production equipment and test systems.
  • Understanding of plastic molding/metal forming processes, hydraulic/pneumatic press with tooling, ultrasonic/heat stake assemblies of plastic/metal components, CNC coil winding, epoxy dispensing systems, magnetized equipment, TIG welding, soldering processes.
  • Test systems for measuring electrical parameters, fluid flow and mechanical displacement are all required.
  • Experience with automotive related products preferred.
  • 10% of travel to Mexico
