Job Description


Reporting to the Senior Manager, HRIS & People Analytics within the Human Resources department, the HRIS Assistant will provide administrative HR system support by working with Corporate and local Human Resources teams to ensure the accurate, timely and efficient processing of HR information. This role will focus on data entry, integrity, and reporting and will have the opportunity to work closely with all facets of HR, including Benefits, Talent Acquisition / Management, Diversity Equity & Inclusion, etc. In conjunction with the People Analytics / HRIS team, this role is responsible for the data integrity of SMP’s global HRIS system, including regular audits and improving ongoing processes.


  • Perform data entry for HR transactions: Coordinate with HR team to ensure that information is entered in the system in an accurate and timely manner
  • Complete internal audits to provide quality assurance with personnel records, and to ensure data integrity and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Provide support to employees on how to utilize the HRIS System
  • Perform basic system security administration such as password resets
  • Manage the HRIS Outlook Inbox fielding and responding to employee questions
  • Adhere to regular weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting responsibilities 
  • Collaborate with and assist HR team as needed
  • Provide assistance to the HRIS / People Analytics team and perform all other duties as required based on the needs of the business
  • Work closely with other members of HR, Payroll and Benefits to coordinate all employee data changes
  • Support other HR specialties such as Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and Diversity Equity & Inclusion with ad-hoc reporting requests as needed
  • Partner with benefits team to perform regular data and reporting reconciliation
  • Assist Talent Acquisition team with data management of SMP’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Conduct ongoing EEOC / diversity reporting to capture new hires, transfers, and promotions
  • Support the compensation team with pulling compensation benchmarking data
  • Process invoices for the People Analytics / HRIS team as needed

Job Requirements


  • 1 – 2 years of experience with Human Resources Information Systems, preferably, Dayforce by Ceridian
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to act with integrity and handle with discretion access to confidential information 
  • Ability to focus on repetitive work with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with the proven ability to take initiative to complete assignments and responsibilities
  • A commitment to providing exceptional service to employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills - comfortability with functionality such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, merging large data sets, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to compile and organize data from multiple sources with multiple formats
