Our Engine Management Segment manufactures and distributes a full line of critical components for the ignition, electrical, emissions, fuel and safety-related systems of motor vehicles. Our Temperature Control Segment manufactures and distributes a full line of critical components for the temperature control (air conditioning and heating) systems, engine cooling systems, power window accessories and windshield washer systems of motor vehicles.

We sell our products primarily to automotive aftermarket retailers, program distribution groups, warehouse distributors, original equipment manufacturers and original equipment service part operations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Mexico and other Latin American countries.

We employ approximately 4,300 people in North America, Europe and Asia.

Electro Mechanical - Project Engineer, Elec Design

In this highly visible role, you will help identify potential opportunities for in-house manufacture, lead efforts in the design/development of new products, assist with the process development for ignition, emission and fuel system components, as well as provide support for a variety of existing product families.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Researching and developing product and test specifications, and requirements.

  • Establishing conceptual and detailed component/circuit/assembled product design

  • Developing embedded software for automotive sensors in C/C++.

  • Completing Bill of Materials – component/assembly specs and drawings

  • Evaluating and approving components

  • Overseeing pre-production subassemblies and final assemblies through to pilot production.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving quality/performance issues

    Salary range for this position: $110,000-140,000

    The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.    

     

    Requirements: 

    To qualify, you must have a Master’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.

  • 10+ years of related product design/development experience,

  • Experience with schematics/PCB layout design using OrCAD, and/or SolidWorks PCB.

       Matlab, SolidWorks experience a plus.

  • Experience with automotive sensors with CAN/LIN interface.

  • Experience with various communications protocols, such as SPI, SENT, I2C, etc.

  • Experience with ARM based processors, microcontrollers.

  • Experience coding in C/C++ and Python.

  • Knowledge of speed, position, and current sensors (Hall Effect technology), transient protection

       circuitry, and various technologies used in engine management devices is preferred.

  • Knowledge/experience with system modeling, numerical analysis and DSP techniques a plus.
